PYY/peptide YY (3-36), human is a peptide released by cells in the ileum and colon in response to eating that acts to reduce hunger. Peptide YY acts as a hormonal signal from the gut to the brain to inhibit food intake and promote satiety. Low levels of peptide YY may be a contributing factor in obesity and binge eating, while elevated levels may contribute to anorexia nervosa and decreased bone turnover.
Each peptide comes complete with the following information:
a QC summary sheet
two reverse phase HPLC profiles to verify purity
mass spectrometry to verify molecular weight
amino acid analysis to verify composition
We use outside laboratories to provide the amino acid analysis and mass spectrometry. This third-party verification allows us to remain objective and has helped us achieve an excellent record of delivering top quality peptides since 1993.
